Your COVID-19 FAQs Answered

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began to spread across the country, Restoration 1 has been inundated with queries around the cleaning services that we offer. Naturally, our customers want to know more about how we clean, disinfect, and sanitize various properties as well as the steps and protocols we follow. To help you out, we’ve put together a list of our most frequently asked questions below.

Common COVID - 19 Questions

What are your working hours?

We offer 24-hour emergency services, 7 days a week. So whatever time of day that you require a COVID-19 cleanup service, we will be there within an hour or less.

How do you keep your technicians safe?

Our cleanup technicians always use appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including fully encapsulated and protective coveralls with full-face respirators.

What certifications do your technicians have?

Our team is certified by the IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning & Restoration Certification) and we strictly adhere to the most up-to-date procedures and products when it comes to sanitation or disease cleanup.

What types of chemicals do you use?

Restoration 1 uses approved CDC (The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) industrial-strength disinfectants to decontaminate and disinfect surfaces.

What areas do you decontaminate and disinfect?

With a strong focus on high touch areas such as light switches, doorknobs, computers, desk handles, and telephone handsets we also clean surfaces, objects, carpets, floors, walls, doors and windows, countertops, office equipment, shelving, storage areas, and all other surfaces people may have come into contact with.

What does the cleaning process involve?

After a thorough assessment, the first step in the process includes sanitation being applied to any hard surfaces. This is then left for about 20 minutes while it deep cleans and disinfects. Our team will then make use of a UBL fogger to get to the areas that we can’t physically hand-wipe. To find out more about our Virus Disinfection & Sanitation service, click here.

What types of properties can you clean?

We can clean homes, apartments, hotels, motels, doctor’s offices, hospitals, veterinary clinics, pharmacies, manufacturing facilities, food markets, restaurants, gyms, buildings, schools, daycares, restaurants and bars, fire and police stations, police cars, and service vehicles. You name it, we can clean it.

What is your Keep It Clean program?

Our Keep It Clean program offers a one-time cleaning or recurring cleaning service for your home or office. Here, we’ve sharpened a method that dramatically reduces the spread of flu, viruses, and bacteria all year long.

How does the Keep It Clean program work?

We will set up a consultation where we will understand and evaluate your individual home or business needs. Next, we will develop a customized program to specifically suit your property requirements. Then we will thoroughly explain what we will do and how we plan to execute each step of your program.

Do you have any tips for cleaning your home?

Ensure you’re using quality disinfectant to wipe down all the high touch and high traffic areas in your homes, such as kitchens counters, desks, keyboards, cell phones, door handles, light switches, remote controls, and even your car steering wheel. Remember your shoes and pets can bring bacteria and viruses into your homes, so make sure to disinfect your floors as well. For more ways to keep your home sanitized, click here.

What do you suggest to help keep my office sanitized?

There should be a good hand sanitizer in all shared spaces – conference rooms, reception areas, etc. Give your employees a tube of disinfectant wipes for their desks. This will make it easy for them to clean their hands and wipe down their keyboards and devices more frequently. For more tips on how to keep your office clean, click here.

I am gearing up to reopen my restaurant, what protocols should I put in place?

On top of regular deep cleans, restaurants will need to put routine, visible cleaning and safety practices in place, to ensure their customers feel safe returning to their establishments. Special emphasis on sanitizing front and back-of-house areas, creating a social distancing dining area, and extra attention to restrooms are just a few steps you’ll need to take.
