Mold Testing

Gaining greater attention and notoriety than ever before, mold testing is the innovation of the future it would seem. Before, we didn’t really think about it. After all, we’ve been busy focusing on the effects of cigarettes, meth, and other things that are obviously harmful. We prevent these problems, and every once in a while, we have flood or other problems where they automatically take the precautions to eliminate mold buildup or test for mold.

But mold testing is being better recognized, because it is one of the easiest ways to protect yourself and your livelihood. Molds can quite literally buildup just about anywhere, and mold testing is the preventative way to hit it where it lives, even if you don’t see the signs. We are learning that mold can be quite toxic, and by toxic we mean it can even cause death! However, allergies, breathing problems, irritable bowel syndrome, and even cancer are actually more common along with fibromyalgia and other various symptoms.

This being said, mold testing has always been important, just not recognized. It is simple, non invasive, and it takes maybe a few minutes of your time. Conducting mold testing once a year will cost you a little money, like going into the doctor for a yearly checkup. But it could alert you to the problems that you may not yet know about. Mold is everywhere. But mold testing tells you how much is there, what kind of mold it is, which is essential to greater knowledge, and in general terms, it tells you if it is a problem that you need to address.

For some there is a stigma. If you have mold, you must be dirty. If you have mold, you must not keep a clean house. Yes, there are some things that can contribute. But even the cleanest individual still has mold in their house. It’s just a matter of which kind and how much. There are things that we cannot always predict such as leaks in pipes that we don’t actually see on a regular basis or even mold that may come in through air vents, HVAC systems, etc.

Regular mold testing will only take up a small amount of time and money each year. But it will prevent far greater problems. And if you do have a mold problem, the methods for cleansing and elimination are easier and less invasive than ever before.
