Because mold infestation may be difficult to detect, mold testing is the most effective way to properly determine the quality of your indoor air. Mold testing is a safety measure that everyone should take to ensure that indoor air is safe to breathe. Any building in which people spend a significant amount of time such as homes, offices, schools and churches should be tested for mold problems to avoid mold-related illnesses. While toxic mold exposure can affect anyone, there are those who are at a higher risk for developing serious illnesses. Infants , pregnant women, the elderly, asthma sufferers and those who suffer from respiratory illness. Since no EPA or other federal limits have been set for mold or mold spores, sampling cannot be used to check a buildings compliance with federal mold standards.
