Mold technicians must have the proper knowledge necessary to mitigate mold and mildew damage. First you will have to find the source of all water damage that eventually turns into mold. Most of the time it starts with a small plumbing problem. When the problem is fixed, you must dry out all affected areas and items completely. Mold should also be scrubbed off of hard surfaces such as metals or plastics. Other porous materials such as ceiling tile and carpeting may have to be bagged and thrown away. Mold can grow on or fill in the empty spaces and crevices of porous materials, so the mold may be impossible to remove completely. Do not paint or caulk over moldy surfaces. Our technicians will start by putting a containment barrier around the affected areas. Negative air scrubbers will also be used to change the air circulation in these areas. All contaminated items and drywall will be double bagged and trashed. When all mold contaminated items are removed, the entire area will be scrubbed and hepa-vacuumed. Fogging the area is also a common way of killing any other mold growth. Restoration 1 also uses all essential Personal Protective equipment(PPE) while performing our services. Respirators, t-vec suits, gloves and eye protection is worn by all members of the remediation team at all times. Everybody should avoid breathing, touching getting mold spore in their eyes. In order to figure out what kind or the severity of mold that you are dealing with, we must first bring in our professional mold inspector to determine the type of mold present. |
